PIDATO

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.
First of all, let us praise to the Almighty Allah SWT, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this English speech contest. Secondly, may peace be upon the prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the darkness into the brightness.
I also would like to say many thanks to the juries and MC who have given me opportunity to deliver this English Speech entitled: Prophet Muhammad SAW
Ladies and Gentlemen…

Who was Muhammad SAW?
Muhammad (s) was a man and a messenger of Allah. He is the last of the prophets [Qur'an 33:40] sent by Allah to guide man to the right path; And Adam was the first Prophet of the religion of Islam.
A Prophet is a caring loving person who teaches people the right way to live. I am going to tell you about a prophet in the medieval times. His name was Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who brought the message of Islam (peace) to the world. The people who follow Islam are called Muslims. (dibaca boleh/tidak ndak papa)
Muhammad was born around the year 570 AD in the city of Mecca, Arabia. Muhammad's father, Abdallah, died several weeks before his birth and his mother, Aminah, died when he was six years old.
He was raised by his paternal grandfather, 'Abd al Muttalib, until the age of eight, and after his grandfather's death by Abu Talib, his paternal uncle. Under the guardianship of Abu Talib, Muhammad began to earn a living as a businessman and a trader.
When He was born, most Arab worshipped idols. Muhammad (s) was forty when, he received the first revelation from the Archangel Jibril (Gabriel). On this first appearance, Gabriel (as) said to Muhammad: "Iqraa," meaning Read or Recite. Muhammad replied, "I cannot read," as he had not received any formal education and did not know how to read or write. The Angel Gabriel then embraced him until he reached the limit of his endurance and after releasing said: "Iqraa." Muhammad’s answer was the same as before.
Brothers and sisters,
For the first 3 years Muhammad call his family and close friends to Islam. Then in 613 Muhammad propagated Islam openly so Islam spreading wide.
The mission of Prophet Muhammad (s) was to restore the worship of the One True God, the creator and sustainer of the universe, as taught by Prophet Ibrahim and all Prophets of God, and to demonstrate and complete the laws of moral, ethical, legal, and social conduct and all other matters of significance for the humanity at large.
The first few people who followed this message were: his cousin Ali, his servant Zayd ibn Harithah, his friend Abu Bakr and his wife and daughters. They accepted Islam by testifying that:
(Bunyi Syahadatnya: terjemah English)
"There is no Deity (worthy of worship) except Allah (The One True God) and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
He was popularly known as ‘al-Ameen’ for his unimpeachable character by the Makkans and visitors alike. The title Al-Ameen means the Honest, the Reliable and the Trustworthy, and it signified the highest standard of moral and public life.
Ladies and Gentlemen…
The Mecca Infidel leaders began to think Muhammad as a threat to their belief so they tried to kill him. To avoid the danger, Muhammad went to Madinah. But the Mecca infidels did not stop. They try to attack Muhammad in Madinah 3 times in Badar, Uhud, and Khandaq wars. But they failed.
After that, Muhammad and his followers conquered Mecca peacefully in 630. There is no home to be destroyed and no bloodshed except for a few war criminals. In 23 years Muhammad united all Arab and also other tribes in Islam.

With Muhammad leadership, Arab not only could hold the Roman and Persian attack but also conquered them all. Until now the Roman capital, Constantinople becomes Istambul under Islamic country. So is Baghdad that used to be the capital of Persian Empire.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Islam means peace by submission and obedience to the Will and Commandments of God and those who accept Islam are called Muslims, meaning those who have accepted the message of peace by submission to God.
I think that’s all about my speech. Sorry for making mistakes. I hope we can meet in different occasion. Thank you for your attention and (good afternoon = waktunya kapan).

The end
